Al-Bireh – Sunday, February 22, 2026 – Dr. Jihad Ramadan, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, received Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, and Ramzi Rabah, member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Department for Combating Racism (Apartheid), at the Commission's headquarters in Al-Bireh, in two separate meetings.
During the meetings, Dr. Ramadan reviewed the Commission's most prominent programs and activities at the national, regional, and international levels, particularly in the areas of preserving tangible and intangible heritage, cultural diplomacy, and following up on Palestinian issues in specialized organizations, in addition to development plans aimed at strengthening international representation of the Palestinian people's cause.
The Commission's work includes both the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, Azzam al-Ahmad, and the PLO's Head of the Department for Combating Racism (Apartheid). For their part, Al-Ahmad and Rabah praised the specialized national and diplomatic role played by the National Committee, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and joint action to strengthen Palestine's presence in relevant international forums, serve the Palestinian national narrative, and safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people at both the legal and international levels.
Rabah's meeting, which was also attended by Democratic Front Political Bureau members Ibrahim Abu Hijleh and Muhammad Othman Dweikat, focused on ways to enhance coordination among the departments and institutions of the Palestine Liberation Organization and to integrate efforts in confronting policies of discrimination and racism through cultural, educational, and intellectual frameworks.
